Hello there Desi Brides!
I hope you have all had a fabulous Easter weekend and enjoyed the break.
As I sat here writing this I can’t quite believe that it is literally 2 months (or 7 weeks) till the wedding!!! EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKSSSSSS
Since I got back from India in March time has literally flown by and I haven’t even worked, so a lot of my time has been going on wedding planning and renovating/decorating my parents house.
My parents wanted to decorate before the big day so there has been so many things I have been helping them with, such as painting and fitting the new kitchen, picking tiles, picking paint – bla bla bla. The last month feels like a crazy whirlwind!
So the plan of action of this month is very simple. GET SHIT DONE.
Sorry for my language but by this I mean I want to get everything done, dusted, sorted by the end of April so I can completely and utterly relax in May and really enjoy the run up and the build up to my wedding and spend that final time time with my family as a single laaaaaadddy.
I am still however feeling the aftermath of what I am calling the India Hangover. There has been some, erm fuck ups I have been dealing with since I got back.
OK nothing too drastic, I didn’t mean to scare you, but basically I had a major drama with my wedding cards in India…I am going to write a whole blog post about this for you, so watch out for it this week because you can learn from my mistakes Desi Brides!
I also had a final supplier meeting two weeks ago at my venue alongside the catering company and decor company. Desi Brides if you aren’t planning on having one of these before your wedding then MAKE SURE YOU DO! This is a great chance for all of the suppliers to get together at the venue alongside the venue managers and go through everything with a fine tooth comb and talk about logistics and timings for the day! It was surprising the things came out. Things such as is there a shaving point in the changing room or do you want starters before or after your entrance. Make sure you get this meeting in the diary Desi Brides!
So now its all just the nitty gritty details I need to sort out. Like the songs for the cake cutting or final prep for my hair and skin! I’m excited to say the very least! I’ve also decided to do some DIY bits for my wedding as well to keep the costs lower so I will let you know about these in another blog post!
Oh yeah I nearly forgot. I also had my family hen do in Barcelona this month, which was so epic! It was costumes and partying galore and I had a break from the wedding planning which was much needed! I even went round Barcelona in a sailors outfit and wings, the word “sport” comes to mind! We stayed in the luxurious W Hotel on the beach and its much recommend! The view was to die for!
Here are some pics (please don’t laugh) and thank you to all my fabulous family who made it very special for me 🙂
So the top things to get done this month are:
Final confirmation of guest numbers (always a drama)
Last food tasting
Final decor details
The real small things for my pre wed events, and the wedding day for that matter
Playlist for the wedding day
Jewellery and shoes for the wedding day
Final Trial – Whoop Whoop!
Train like a beast to shed that final stubborn fat!
To be honest I do have my work cut out for me! But I am planning to get lots done this week so then I can start to chillax a little bit more!
I’ll keep you updated on my progress…
That’s it for now….
