Hello my lovely Desi Brides!
I hope you are all well and not too bummed out by the fact that Christmas and New Year is over and I hope that bout of January blues isn’t too bad.
So what have I been upto and what’s been going on in the world of Desi Bride Dreams?
Since my last monthly countdown post a lot has happened. So let me give you all the deets…
I had my measurements on the 19th December. For those of you that don’t know I did a mental strip down for 6 weeks to lose and drop body fat. If you don’t know what the hell I am talking about you can read my post here but any ways let me get to the point. I lost a whopping 2 inches off my waist, 2 inches off my legs and 1 inch off my arm. To say that I was feeling fantastic would be the biggest understatement of the year as I was only really hoping for 1 inch off my waist but when my amaze balls trainer Jaz said “2 inches off the waist Sharn” I wanted to kiss her, literally.
It was a very important moment for me. I’ve had a weird hang up about my weight, and in this last year I have found it really hard to curb my binge eating. I felt with the strip down I had mentally conquered my thoughts and habits around eating. I was uber strict and it was tough especially with the last week and the run up to Christmas there was food everywhere, and I mean everywhere. But I sure did it. My jeans are also a quite brilliant reminder of how much weight I have actually lost. I haven’t been able to fit into them for about 3 years and when I did a few weeks ago I was jumping with joy. People that never EVER compliment me on my weight have been, and I am feeling bluddy fantastic to say the least.
But it doesn’t stop there! I had a little breather and break over Christmas where I did indulge in some oh so yummy cupcakes and chocolates for a few days but I am now back on it. Having 5 months left till the wedding this is the biggest motivation for me and I am determined to drop another 4 inches off the waist before the wedding. I purposefully didn’t plan anything for NYE as I know what’s it’s like. You don’t even start your healthy eating till the 2nd Jan and by then I would have lost a week so I started back on the 28th Dec. Each day makes a difference and my second phase of strip down is now on and I have my measurements on the 31st Jan. It’s only another 4 weeks and I am freaking out! I have set myself a goal of 2 more inches which I feel is completely achievable but we shall have to wait and see. Wish me luck and I’m hoping that I will drop more body fat! This time I will be documenting my strip down journey a lot more so watch out for my posts!
Any ways enough of my strip down. Onto other weddingy stuff.
To be brutally honest I am feeling very relaxed and chilled about ALL the wedding bits. All major things booked *pops virtual champagne* I have a big decor meeting this month to really hone in on what I want for the wedding day and the pre party, and all there is left to book now is bits of other pieces of decor for the wedding day.
I think now will be the time of all the real nitty gritty things which I call the micro things. My lovely to do list and spreadsheet will come in handy for this (yes I am uber organised) and I’m also going to be having planning meetings with all my suppliers to make sure we are all on the same page and they know exactly what I want from them.
So the things to get ticked off for Jan are as below:
Site visit with caterers
Make a list/spreadsheet of all the nitty gritty bits and get cracka lacking with sorting everything out
Spend a bit more time thinking about my sangeet and jago night as well as my maiya
So you get the jist!
Oh how could I forget I have my big massive India trip next month for a month! I will give you the deets of that in another blog post and there is also lots to think and prepare for and rest assured I will be taking my lovely little notebook with me.
