Hello lovely brides to be!
As you know I am a big believer in looking and feeling your best on the big dreamy day! So today I’m going to cover skincare, which I think is uber important in getting your make-up to appear flawless. Yes you are going to have the best make-up artist making you look a million dollars but having and following a strict bridal skincare regime is only going to make you look even more beautiful (you can thank me later).
I also wanted my skin to be amazing by the wedding because with a lot of the pre wedding Sikh events the bride to be shouldn’t wear that much make-up and she is meant to look quite toned down and neutral. So I wanted to feel comfortable (as much as I can be) wearing minimal make-up. Don’t get me wrong, I think overall my skin is in a good condition but everything can be improved right?
Ok now onto the doing. I’m going to be brutally honest, most posts you will read will say increase your water intake or do lots of exercise (DUHHHHHHHH) but this alone isn’t going to get you results, you need to take some action and you need to take it now!
When I got engaged earlier this year one of the first things I did was book in for a skin consultation at my local lovely Salon – Bloomin Beautiful. I told them exactly what I wanted -amazing skin by the wedding.

I chose Bloomin Beautiful because its this cute little boutique/niche salon which has a great reputation not to mention awesome customer service. I’ve been a regular client of their’s for some time now so they were a perfect fit!
So off I went, and met with Caroline (the owner) who recommended that I booked a Skin Scan. But she said the main thing was that I had a tailored plan for my skin. She also told me that I need to start using an eye cream ASAP to prevent and combat ageing (I know right, I’m only twenty something but she did think I was 24 – aaaaaaahmazing!) She also said that products and facials would be key in achieving amazing skin. But with soooooooooo many products on the market I knew it was always going to be hard for me to choose. so I left this until my skin scan and let the experts tell me what to do.
At the time I was using the Environ range, but the basics – face wash and moisturiser. I’ve never been that cleanse, tone, moisturise type of girl but I knew now is the time to be one, and of course I can finally be that girl that takes proper care of her skin and prances around in her dressing gown with a face mask on. You know the one…(love KK)
I’ll talk more about my skin scan later this week as I finally had it this weekend (and oh my god it was sooooo good and I can’t wait to tell you the deets) but if you have some time until your wedding, start thinking about your skin. Research local salons in your area or enquire with a salon that you already go to and book in for a consultation. Then get started on your skincare regime and purchase those products!
I’ll post my skin scan post later this week so keep a look out for it 🙂
Until next time…
