As promised I’m back with my skin scan post.
Earlier this week I wrote a blog post about pre bridal skincare. In case you missed this you can find it here.
Sooooo I went for my skin scan over the weekend at my local salon Bloomin Beautiful. All I knew was that they would scan my skin but nothing more really. I was already using the Environ range on my skin, but the bare minimal – just the Sebuwash cleanser and the AVST2 moisturiser.
I’ve been using Environ for over a year now and I have definitely seen a difference in my skin, and I have only been using the basics. I knew I wanted to stick with Environ and I am all about the slightly expensive products because I can just imagine that the ones you find on supermarket shelf’s that promise to make you wrinkle free in 3 weeks are probably packed with rubbish.
So off I went and I was greeted by a lovely lady Sophie who was from the iiaa which is the institute for anti ageing and they distribute key products such as Environ.
Sophie went through a really detailed questionnaire with me to find out all about my health and what I wanted to achieve from my skin. My answer – awesome looking skin by my wedding!
So once we went through all the questions Sophie asked me to put my face on this scanner thing. Don’t ask me what it was as it looked quite technical but all I knew was that it was going to scan my skin and tell me lots of different and interesting things!
It did just that. It scanned my skin and then my face (apologies in advance people for the hideous pics below but I wanted to show you my skin scan). My face then popped up on Sophie’s laptop *cringe* (but oh so worth it)
There it was, my skin laid bare. After I got over the initial shock of how hideous I looked make-up free Sophie explained to me the different skin related topics we were going to talk about and how much these would be effecting my skin:
The image above was where my skin was analysed – cool huh?!
We then went onto to discuss my wrinkles and UV damage in detail. It was always around the same area which was around my eyes and my temples as you can see in the images below.
The photo is a bit blurry but where you can see the green bits that’s where I have the most wrinkles, which was only luckily around my eye area and this is the most common place. When we looked close up we could see the skin ever so slightly wrinkled in that area – phew!
We went onto to discuss UV damage which was minimal and texture and congestion and it was always in the same places – around my temples. This is typical because this where the hair sits and perhaps this where the products don’t get to.
All in all the skin scan was so eye opening and interesting.I never even thought about things such as imperfections etc. And on the whole people say my skin is good but even myself I can notice I’m not that fresh faced Sharn that I was once at 21 🙁 My skin has naturally aged, but I know I can make it appear more brighter and glowing. It was reassuring to know that overall my skin scan was positive and with the help of some environ products I can get it looking awesome by the wedding – yay!
The skin scan was finished off by a mini environ facial – oooo so relaxing!
Sophie then wrote me out a customised plan for my skin. Below is what it consisted of:
Skin Vitality Tablets
Eye Gel (see you later wrinkles)
RAD SPF 15
As you can see this isn’t adding too much to what I already do which is great! You don’t need to spend a fortune either to get amazing skin for your wedding.
So next steps? I’m going to book into a skin scan in 3 months time to see the improvements and of course start using the products!
So lovely brides to be, get your skin scans booked and here is a the iiaa website if you need a little guidance. I’m sure a lot of salons will offer these, even my teeny weeny town Swindon does so they will definitely be available nationwide. Even if they don’t, get in contact with a salon and ask them to create a customised skin plan for you.
Keep me posted on how you get on!
Until next time…
