Hey Hey Hey Desi Brides – I hope you are well!
This week is manic, busy, crazy, hectic – you name it for me! I fly out to India next Tuesday for a month so as you can imagine I am trying to wrap up everything wedding, blog and general life related before I go!
But today I wanted to talk to you about my strip down. If you don’t know what the hell I am talking about then you can read my first blog post here.
However I’ll give you the low down.
So I’m a 5ft 1 inch lady and I have always be a chubby size 8. I’ve always had hang up’s about my body and I just didn’t want to feel uncomfortable in my own skin on my big day.
I got back from Vegas last May and I felt massive, absolutely massive. I even stored a picture on my phone with me standing next to my skinny, tall friends and I literally looked like a fat dumpling. I know you may think I am massively exaggerating but that’s how I exactly felt. My leggings were tight, I tried to wear oversized clothes to hide the fat and when I looked in the mirror I felt chubby.
I’m not saying I was obese but what I am saying is that I did feel overweight and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that, after all we all have a right to feel amazing about our body right? That’s exactly what I wanted to feel, I guess the word I am looking for is confident.
I knew I had a year after Vegas to get my arse into gear and work towards my dream figure. I wasn’t into the whole crash dieting, lose a stone in a week kind of plan and I wanted to lose fat gradually and healthily. My engagement in September was also looming and I really didn’t fancy the thought of going round Asian boutiques and dread trying dresses on right – that would be the worst feeling ever!
So I took the plunge and took some serious action! I hired a personal trainer who I had trained off and on with before but I wanted to make shit real and get results!
We started properly back in June last year and I knew I had 3 months till the engagement to lose some serious fat! And then it all started happening…
My trainer Jaz is part of the brand called Absolutely Fit in Swindon and trust me these guys are amazing. They wrote out a personalised nutrition plan for me, set me homework and I would train with Jaz twice a week. It isn’t easy, I’m not going to lie but these guys gave me the motivation and kick up the ass that I needed! Me and Jaz would catch up every session in terms of my eating and nutrition and then train. Jaz has been amazing and always on hand for any questions! I still whatsapp her every day with pictures of my food and my training!

I would have measurements done each month and by the time September came round I had lost 3 inches off my waist, one off my arm and one off my legs and I still had 1 cheat meal a week – amazing! I remember my engagement dress was falling off me, and the boutique even said I had lost loads of weight so they would need to alter it! BOOOOOOOOOM
So after my engagement, lots of cake and alcoholic drinks and a little over indulgence I wanted to up my game.
So I started a strip down in the beginning of November. I did nearly 7 weeks of intense training and no cheats and did exactly what Jaz told me. The results…wait for it…
3 INCHES OFF MY WAIST, 1 INCH OFF MY ARM AND 1 INCH OFF MY LEG!
That was over 5 inches lost in just 6.5 weeks to be precise. I was literally so happy and the results were soooo much better than I expected! It was tough I’m not going to lie as my strip down ended on the 19th December and there was literally Christmas food all around me so the temptation was there but I resisted and I’m so glad I did because my results were amazing!
So I had a little mini break from the nutrition plan and training and then started all over again on the 28th December for a month (well this Saturday) and I think I have lost another inch off my waist but I’m not sure as my measurements are this Saturday!!!!
To say I have been very strict would be a understatement. It was my birthday last week and I didn’t even have a treat or anything! In fact I haven’t had 1 cheat or treat meal in the last 4 weeks. Why? Because I want the results, I want the fat loss and above all I want to feel amazing on my wedding day!
It’s true what they say, if you really want something, you will find a way…
