Hello there lovely brides to be!
Today I’m going to be talking about catering. I know, I know its probably one of the more difficult to things to organise because we all know that catering is a big part of any Asian wedding to say the least. The older generation especially always remember the food and if it isn’t right then we never hear the end of it! *Oh my god to you remember the roti – it was terrible, the service was also sooooooo slow* (in your Aunty ji’s accent).
Don’t let this scare you. There are lots and lots of very high quality and reputable caterer’s out there who are also competitively priced, you just need to ask the right questions (and that’s where I come in – doing the hard work so you don’t have to) and negotiate like HELL! Yes yes, don’t be shy just haggle away. Did I tell you know that I managed to reduce nearly £8k on the quote I was originally given because I decided that I didn’t need 6 different canapés and I bargained hard – do what your momma told you and haggle! It’s actually quite fun 🙂
Anyway what you need to do is get the catering right for your wedding which is both within your budget and your vision for your wedding.
I’ll be writing a blog post soon about hand-picked Asian wedding caterers across the UK but first I wanted you to think about a couple of things when you are getting your quotes from caterers. OK OK, you may now even be thinking but Sharn I don’t even know any caterers or I don’t even know where to start. I can help with this, ping me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll gladly offer some advice to help you get started (yay).
